The Journal of Acute Care Physical Therapy (JACPT) is the only peer-reviewed journal dedicated specifically to acute care physical therapy.

JACPT is an indexed resource for the dissemination of research-based evidence and clinical practice information related to physical therapy practice for patients with acute care needs. JACPT was developed to enhance the prominence of physical therapy in the acute care portion of the health care arena and to demonstrate the scientific basis of our area of practice. Although hospital-based practice and intensive care, in particular, represent the major focus of JACPT , additional care settings including emergency departments, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, and others are also covered in the journal.
